In October 2023 I took a short camping trip to South Llano River State Park in Junction, Texas. It was my first time camping totally by myself. I went there initially because I’d read about some waterfalls within the park and was interested in seeing if I could photograph them (spoiler alert: I never found them), while also being interested in the bird life. It turned into a mostly birding trip, though one chilly morning I did hike up to the overlook at the top of the Overlook Trail, and one day I did go into the town for lunch and a little bit of shopping.
